A 1982 graduate of the Palmer College of Davenport, Iowa, Curry was presented this prestigious award at a banquet held on Friday, May 11 in front of one hundred doctors of chiropractic, students and families gathered to celebrate the ICA’s 92 years of service to the profession and the public. The ICA Chiropractor of the Year Award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated a career-long record of professional excellence, achievement and service to the ICA and the chiropractic profession. The selection is made by the Distinguished Fellows of the ICA, (FICA) an honorary fraternity of more than two-hundred doctors of chiropractic who have served the ICA in leadership capacities and other realms of professional service with exceptional distinction. Curry’s selection is especially profound and historic as he is the only Doctor of Chiropractic ever to receive this honor twice in his career, previously in 2016.
Curry has an impressive record of service and leadership both within the ICA and in the profession and continues to play an active role in his local, state, national and professional communities with a profound commitment to service. He has energetically contributed to the growth and leadership of the Connecticut Chiropractic Council (CCC), most recently holding the position of Chairman of the Board. Committed to professional development and education in chiropractic, he has served as a member of the Extended Faculty for both Palmer College and Life University. He was conferred the Diplomate in Applied Chiropractic Sciences (DACS) in 1994 and earned the L.C.P. designation for the Legion of Chiropractic Philosophy from Palmer College in 2000.
Curry has served outside the US, delivering chiropractic mission work in Poland, India, the Dominican Republic and China.
