“We are proud to partner with the University of Western States so that we can provide future physicians with training in naturopathic medicine for a more integrated approach to patient care,” Joseph Stiefel, EdD, DC, president of NUHS, said.
Joseph Brimhall, DC, president of UWS, shared Steifel’s sentiment, adding, “This agreement means students can further their education, increase their knowledge, and have more tools to care for their patients.”
Beginning summer 2015, current DC degree candidates and UWS DC graduates will be eligible to apply to the NUHS ND program. Credit for courses taken at UWS will transfer directly to NUHS and apply toward the completion of the ND requirements. The agreement helps minimize the time requirement and loan debt incurred by dual-degree students. The agreement requires that both the DC and the ND degree programs must be completed within eight years of the earliest program matriculation.
