Covering 20 miles a day, the walkers were in much need of chiropractic care. Parker University students and faculty adjusted nearly 600 people during the walk. They also assisted by taping walkers with kinesiology tape provided by Rocktape, making ice bags, caring for blisters, sprained ankles, and more.
“We’ve been the official chiropractic partner for this event ever since it came to Dallas,” said David Walters, DC, professor of Parker University. “We’re honored to be able to support the walkers by providing chiropractic care to them.”
The Dallas/Fort Worth 3-Day event is just one of 14 that the organization hosts on its mission to end breast cancer.
“The 3-Day event means a lot to me because I am the daughter and granddaughter of breast cancer patients,” said Parker University student intern Dori Bonitatibus. “I was excited to have the opportunity to participate and contribute to such an important event.”
A sixth year 3-Day participant, Janie Singleton, received care from Parker University student intern Bonitatibus and explained why she feels it’s important to participate in the event. “The first year I walked I did it with a friend who had been a 10 year breast cancer survivor,” said Singleton. “Since then, I’ve been walking each year. It’s so important to help raise awareness by participating in events like this.”
