Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU) has named NWHSU alumnus Marty Caron, DC, director of the NWHSU Bloomington Clinic.

With 34 years of chiropractic experience, Caron, known as “Dr. Marty,” is a former Minnesota Chiropractor of the Year and a 1991 graduate of Northwestern Health Sciences University’s Doctor of Chiropractic program, a press release noted. In 1992, he co‑founded Caron Chiropractic with his brother, Matthew Caron, DC, also an NWHSU alumnus.

“We’re thrilled to have Dr. Caron leading NWHSU’s Bloomington Clinic,” said Deb Bushway, PhD, NWHSU President and CEO. “His experience, leadership and commitment to education and patient‑centered care make him an exceptional fit for this role.”

As director, Caron brings the same commitment to collaborative, integrated care that patients and staff value at his clinic.

“To return to my alma mater in a combined role of clinic leadership and practicing chiropractor has been everything I hoped it would be,” said Caron. “This role allows me to further the clinic’s focus on natural, integrative, whole-person care. It’s a special place, with a team committed to intentional collaboration—between providers, patients and staff. Integration doesn’t just happen; it has to be built with purpose. And here, it truly is.”

Caron notes that patients and providers alike experience a strong sense of community at the clinic. Remaining an active, practicing provider is central to his leadership philosophy, as he believes it strengthens connection, credibility and care delivery.

The Bloomington Clinic offers a wide range of services, including acupuncture and Chinese medicine, chiropractic care, massage therapy and clinical laboratory services. An accessible, academically integrated facility, it offers care from highly trained, experienced practitioners who are closely connected to current research and evidence-based best practices and share a commitment to lifelong learning.

The clinic is also a site for NWHSU’s renowned community-based internship (CBI) program, where chiropractic students in their final year of training observe, assist and ultimately participate in patient care under the supervision of experienced clinicians.

“It’s important to me that we’re mentoring future healthcare providers and supporting a collaborative clinical learning environment that helps students transition confidently into professional practice,” Caron said. “The experience brings learning and patient care together in meaningful ways.”

Caron credits an extensive and thoughtful transition plan at his previous practice—developed with the help of his brother and of NWHSU alumnus Tim Graff—with ensuring continuity of care and a smooth leadership transition. He believes this experience underscores the value of strong succession planning for the benefit of patients, providers and the broader healthcare community.

Specializing in athletic injuries, chronic pain, disc herniation and spinal trauma, Caron brings a practical, patient‑centered approach to care in his chiropractic practice.
