Arlan W. Fuhr, DC

Northeast College of Health Sciences has announced that the founder and chairman of Activator Methods International, Arlan W. Fuhr, DC, will be the keynote speaker at the Winter 2025 Commencement ceremony on March 29.

Part of an esteemed group of healthcare and business professionals noted for outstanding contributions to the international advancement of chiropractic, Fuhr will address the latest Northeast Doctor of Chiropractic graduates at the Seneca Falls, New York, campus, according to a college press release.

Co-inventor of Activator Method and adjusting instrument

Fuhr became a member of the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine in 2000. The World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) has recognized him with its prestigious Honour Award, and in 2012 he was selected as the World Health Organization’s delegate representing the WFC.

Established more than 50 years ago, the Activator Adjusting Instrument and Activator Method Chiropractic Technique were co-invented by Fuhr. The method is the world’s most widely used instrument-adjusting chiropractic technique and is currently used by more than 70% of all doctors of chiropractic. Endorsed throughout the field, the Activator Method is taught in nearly every college in the US, including Northeast College of Health Sciences, and is globally acknowledged as the standard reference for instrument adjusting.

Educating DCs worldwide on the benefits of low-force chiropractic adjustments, Fuhr has taught and spoken across the US and Canada as well as in Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Spain and the UK.

Ceremony Week at Northeast College

Northeast College’s commencement marks the culmination of the college’s Ceremony Week, a highly anticipated time held each trimester that also includes the Commitment to Excellence Pledge event for new chiropractic students and the Transitions Ceremony marking seventh-trimester students’ shift to the clinical phase of their education.
