Texas Chiropractic College names new chair for board of regents

Chiropractic Economics Staff December 8, 2021

Dawn Schwab, DC, has been announced as the new chair of the Texas Chiropractic College Board of Regents. She is a 1993 Texas Chiropractic College Alumna and was appointed to the Board of Regents in October of  2011.

After graduation, Schwab worked as an associate doctor before starting Spinal Care Chiropractic with her business partner, Lisa Rister, DC. They opened the practice in December of 1999 and are currently still in practice together.

“It’s surreal after having been a student, a volunteer, and a member of the board to now be the chairperson,” Schwab said.

In her new role Schwab says it is essential to determine what the college needs and how the board can support those needs.

Schwab is preceded by Monte Blue, DC, who served as Texas Chiropractic College’s chairman from 2013-2021.

“We had a great chairman in Dr. Blue,” Schwab says, “He did an amazing job and accomplished great work during that time; so, I have big shoes to fill.”

Schwab affirms that she is looking forward to the challenge.

“I am excited about where TCC will be in the next five years,” she says. “I think the pandemic brought a lot of challenges, but it also brought a lot of opportunities… I look forward to seeing what the future holds for TCC and am grateful to be a part of it.”
