The Vitality Depot to distribute Smart Step Healthcare Anti-Fatigue Mats

Chiropractic Economics August 22, 2011

chiropractor_burgundy_matAugust 22, 2011 — The Vitality Depot and Smart Step Therapeutic Flooring announced their new licensing partnership. The Vitality Depot now has the exclusive license to distribute Smart Step Healthcare Anti-Fatigue Mats to the chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy, and rehabilitation markets.

The Vitality Depot will offer Smart Step Healthcare Mats to licensed healthcare professionals and Smart Step Home Collection Mats to consumers by the way of their doctors or therapists.

OSHA has cited more than 100 ergonomic reports that recommend the use of anti-fatigue mats such as Smart Step Healthcare Mats. The incidence of musculoskeletal disorders of the low back, legs, and feet are often attributed to prolonged standing on hard flooring — and anti-fatigue mats are strongly encouraged for both the benefit of employees and economic savings for employers.

“Doctors, therapists, trainers and nurses often forget to take care of their own bodies,” explains Mark Mandell, a third generation chiropractor and president of The Vitality Depot. “Healthcare workers are doing physical work, often requiring prolonged standing. The use of Smart Step mats next to treatment tables can significantly help reduce fatigue and pain in the lower back and extremities. We are proud to partner with Smart Step to bring this premier product to market.”

“Smart Step has been successfully addressing health and safety concerns of corporate America for over 10 years,” notes Dan Bouzide, president of Smart Step. “We are pleased to partner with The Vitality Depot and continue this innovative program to bring premier anti-fatigue mats to both healthcare professionals and their patients. It’s good health and good business.”

Musculoskeletal disorders cost employers $15 to $20 billion in workers’ compensation plans and also cost employees quality-of-life issues along with lost wages. According to once recent study, use of anti-fatigue mats like Smart Step Healthcare Mats can reduce lower back discomfort by 50 percent, reduce tiredness by 70 percent, and reduce foot discomfort by 180 percent.
