October 9, 2011 — The Joint … the chiropractic place CEO John Leonesio announced growth plans that will guide the company for the next decade.
“Making the benefits of quality chiropractic care both extremely affordable and convenient to the millions of Americans who need it can’t happen fast enough,” Leonesio said. “All our efforts will therefore be focused on growing The Joint to a national franchise operation, staffing each clinic with leading chiropractors and delivering a superior chiropractic care experience to all our members.”
Leonesio’s plan is simple: apply the same core strategies that made Massage Envy so wildly successful directly to The Joint…the chiropractic place.
“There are many similarities between the massage therapy industry and chiropractic care,” Leonesio said. “Both are more and more being incorporated into people’s health and wellness routine. Our responsibility with The Joint…the chiropractic place is to make quality chiropractic care affordable and accessible to everyone.”
The Joint’s business model is simple as well. Members pay a low monthly membership fee, which covers up to four treatments each month. Members can visit any The Joint…the chiropractic place in the country to receive care.
No insurance pre-authorization is required and no appointment is necessary.
“Let’s face it,” Leonesio said. “Right now, getting quality, affordable chiropractic care is a huge hassle. With The Joint, we’re going to remove all the barriers that stand between people who want and need chiropractic care as a part of their health and wellness program and actually getting it.
“We’re going to make it affordable with a low monthly membership fee, with each treatment then being less than a typical insurance co-pay. We’re going to make it convenient with weekend and extended daily hours. And we’re going to make it accessible by making The Joint franchises affordable and easy to operate — and open them across the country.
“By making The Joint affordable and convenient on one end and profitable on the other, it’s going to be a win-win-win for every owner, chiropractor and member we have.” Leonesio’s plan for The Joint…the chiropractic place is fast finding support. In May 2011, Anne and David Glover became regional developers for the development of 50 clinics in the Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin regions.
“We knew the magic that John had worked with Massage Envy and the membership model, ” Glover said. “John is the master at simplifying the service delivery process and creating value for the consumer. In addition, the lower start-up costs and minimal staffing needs and the profit potential are quite impressive.”
In addition, The Joint…the chiropractic place presently has 81 clinics open or in development in Arizona, California, Louisiana, Texas, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Nevada, New Mexico, Missouri, Utah and has 202 units under agreement with additional regional developers.
“We’re on our way,” Leonesio said. “Our standardized model clinic is ideal for brand awareness and rapid growth through franchising. We believe The Joint…the chiropractic place will set a new benchmark in the industry for clients and for chiropractors who will both benefit from its ability to deliver the highest standard of care simply and inexpensively.”
