Sublingual CBD Technology: New advances for a more consumer-friendly CBD

Although cannabidiol (CBD) is available in many forms, the most common method of administration is sublingually according to a recent study published in the journal Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research. Sublingual CBD was followed by vaping, taking oil-filled capsules and pills, or consuming liquids that contain CBD.Sublingual administration typically involves placing a couple of drops of CBD oil under the tongue and holding them there for up to 60 seconds to help the cannabinoid to penetrate into the oral tissue. But new technology presents another sublingual administration method, and it is a sublingual mist.

What is a sublingual CBD mist?

Instead of ingesting CBD oil via large droplets released from a squeezable dropper and placing them under the tongue, sublingual mist technology uses a micro mist spray to administer this cannabinoid.

With this type of product, the sublingual mist is sprayed into the mouth, similar to what you’d do when using a sprayable breath freshener. This allows the droplets to fall onto the tongue.

What value could sublingual mist technology offer over the more traditional sublingual administration method when it comes to oral CBD? There are a few, but the most notable is in relation to the ease of use and a pleasant experience with which CBD can be incorporated into a consumer’s health and wellness routine.

Sublinguals and the importance of ease of use to consumers

As with any health and wellness routine, ease of use becomes an important consideration for many consumers of these products. This is because adherence to a routine becomes important in achieving success in reaching one’s health and wellness goals. Products that are time consuming or unpleasant to use tend to become unused and fall out of routine. This means that the potential health and wellness benefits of CBD will not be realized by the consumer.

Sublingual CBD oils are just that  ̶̶  oil.  When placed on the tongue and held in the mouth for 60 seconds these products cause a very unpleasant user experience.  First, they taste awful. Second, they have a very unpleasant “mouth feel.” They coat the entire mouth with oil that remains long after swallowing.  Finally, due to the bitter taste and bad mouth feel, holding sublingual oils in your mouth for 60 seconds can seem like an eternity. None of these characteristics make sublingual CBD oils user-friendly.

Herb Tech Pharmaceuticals Micro-Mist Solution

Herb Tech’s patent-pending sublingual mist technology is called “PSM,” which stands for Penetrating Sublingual Mist. This micro-mist technology is designed to overcome the unpleasant user experiences that accompany sublingual oils. Scientists at Herb Tech discovered a way to solubilize the CBD into a non-oil-based solution that tends to form micronized droplets when misted. Further, this solution could be adjusted to have a very pleasant mouth feel as well as a pleasant chocolate-minty taste. For the consumer, this technology creates an enjoyable, convenient way to incorporate CBD into a daily health and wellness regimen.

In addition to the consumer-friendly use benefits of PSM-formulated products, Herb Tech’s CBD leads the industry. The CBD is extracted from hemp sourced in Kentucky. Herb Tech’s CBD complies with all U.S. Federal requirements and the independent certifications are easily accessed on the company’s web site.

However, Herb Tech Pharma’s PSM-formulated products are more than just PSM technology and CBD. In addition to the CBD, each product is designed with a unique portfolio of botanical extracts. The botanical extracts are sourced from Hawaii and each product incorporates specific extracts that have an established history of use for a particular consumer “need state.” In this way, the consumer can select that product that best identifies their health and wellness goals.

To further help the consumer use the product appropriately, Herb Tech PSM products are packaged in a metered dose spray. Each pump of the sprayer easily and quickly delivers 5 mg of CBD. Unlike traditional uncalibrated oil droppers, the consumer can choose the precise amount that they want to use without having to guess.

Finally, Herb Tech PSM products are a true value. The products provide 840 mg of CBD per bottle, a substantial quantity of botanical extracts and advanced formulation technology packed in a precise metered dose spray bottle for a wholesale price of $23.99 and an MSRP of $39.99. Not only will the health care provider have confidence that they are recommending a product that their patients will rave about, but the price point makes it feasible for the consumer’s daily use over a long period of time.

Guiding patients for a safe, effective CBD experience

As a health care provider, patients look to you for advice when using health and wellness products, including CBD. Your patients trust your knowledge of their health needs as well as your knowledge of products that can help them achieve their goals. It is important to find companies that support your mission since the guidance and information you provide can help with a better and more effective experience.
