Southern California University of Health Sciences named a '2014 Great College to Work For' by The Chronicle of Higher Education

Chiropractic Economics July 28, 2014

07.28.14_Southern_California_University_of_Health_Sciences_named_great_college_to_work_forJuly 28, 2014 — Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to a new survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

The results, released last week in The Chronicle’s seventh annual report on The Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of more than 43,000 employees at 278 colleges and universities. In all, only 92 of the 278 institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies, and SCU is proud to once again be recognized with other excellent universities, such as our fellow Chiropractic institution, the New York College of Chiropractic.

“SCU is a great place to work because of the people who work here,” SCU President John Scaringe said. “We have cultivated a community that values and displays transparency, grit, and a sense of humor. We are dedicated employees, but find time to laugh. We have a tendency to work hard, but we know that we’re in it together. It is our community that makes us successful, and it is because of this community that I am proud to work at SCU. What’s more, I am proud and honored to serve as president.”

SCU won honors in three categories this year: Collaborative Governance, Respect and Appreciation, and Confidence in Senior Leadership. The university was excited to gain this recognition for a third time and wanted to celebrate it properly.
