4 SEO hacks to increase your chiropractic website’s success

Samantha Heath May 2, 2018

SEO is the process of increasing traffic to a webpage by ensuring the site appears toward the top of a results page. Better search results increase the number of visitors to your site, thereby creating more opportunities to convert these web surfers into clients. Learn 4 SEO hacks to get you there.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of increasing traffic to a webpage by ensuring the site appears toward the top of a search engine results page.

Better search results increase the number of visitors to your site, thereby creating more opportunities to convert these web surfers into clients. Because 75 percent of web users don’t click past the first page of their search engine results, businesses compete aggressively for this coveted online real estate.

To beat the competition and give your practice the exposure it deserves, implement these basic SEO strategies into your marketing efforts.

1. Publish relevant content

The core purpose of a search engine is to deliver the best and most relevant results to the user. Search engines accomplish this by connecting key search criteria to popular web pages, which are then displayed in the order of perceived importance. To create the most relevant content for your industry, identify your audience and cater to their interests. Imagine what kind of information your viewers need and generate related content accordingly.

The more useful your information, the more backlinks you will receive. The more backlinks you receive, the higher your site will rank on a search engine results page, because the search engine algorithm will deem it more valuable.

2. Understand the impact of keywords

Keywords connect web users with your page by linking search results to the significant words and phrases in your content. When choosing keywords, consider how your audience might search for your information. For example, you might insert keywords that relate to your practice’s specialties or location, like “spinal injury” or “chiropractor in Florida.”

Choose the essential keywords or phrases for each of your web pages and repeat them multiple times. This will increase the chances of your page appearing in the search results for those criteria.

3. Stick to the basics

When creating your content, ensure it is easily digestible. Your educational pieces and practice information should avoid overly complicated technical jargon and long-winded text. More and more, web users are preferring visual content over written text.1

As 65 percent of people are visual learners, presenting information and advertisements with graphic content will increase audience retention. In fact, posts that include images product a 650 percent higher engagement rate than text-only posts. Visual content can also drive more traffic to your page by enabling people to find your website through an image search. Try placing graphics, infographics, and short videos alongside written content.2

4. Be mobile friendly

In 2016, Google began using mobile-first content indexing for searches conducted on mobile phones. This means that Google search results prioritized sites optimized for cellphones over desktop versions when the search was made using a smartphone. To ensure that your website remains at the top of the search results page, create mobile capability for your website. This will make your content more easily accessible to the nearly 5 billion smartphone users worldwide.3
