August 6, 2011 — September 2011 marks the 10th anniversary of Platinum System’s patient-centered digital software that supports the management of a chiropractic practice.
Claude Cote, founder and chief executive officer of Platinum System, was one of the real innovators of providing a software system to the chiropractic community (see DC Innovators). In 1989, Cote, an engineer, began helping a chiropractic friend by developing a chiropractic management software system. Word of mouth spread among chiropractors and Cote quit his job and began assisting chiropractors full time. At that time, the software was for billing and scheduling chiropractic patient only.
By September 2001, after five years of writing code to cover all the various functions of fully automated patient management system through the office, keeping patient records, documentation for insurance and regulatory agencies, and digitally handling more of the business side of the chiropractor, Cote offered Platinum System to the chiropractic world.
“Our latest innovation, an electronic sign-in to sign-out Chiropractic Health Card for each individual patient, is one of the greater success stories of software development for the chiropractic profession,” says Cote.
“Naturally every year we have updated and improved on the original system,” he says. “But the central focus of the software has never changed; it is and continues to be and will be patient oriented. Our software facilitates the patient through every stage in the office and in follow up relations with the chiropractor. Naturally, Platinum System does everything to assist the doctors of chiropractor to operate the business so the entire team can spend more time with patients.”
