Palmer College of Chiropractic has been selected as the host location for the upcoming Student American Black Chiropractic Association (SABCA) Central and Eastern Regional Conferences, noted a Feb. 29 Palmer blog post.
The Eastern Regional Conference will be held March 1-2 at Palmer Florida in Port Orange, Florida, while the Central Regional Conference will be held April 5-6 at Palmer’s Main Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
The conferences will feature a lineup of speakers and interactive sessions designed to inspire attendees. In addition to the daytime sessions, the conferences will also include an exciting evening event, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect with peers, mentors and industry leaders in a celebratory atmosphere.
“I’m excited about introducing students to what SABCA is and how it can be beneficial to them throughout their time in chiropractic school,” said Byron Nwonye, president of SABCA on Palmer’s Main Campus. “SABCA was founded to inspire and empower students of color to embrace the journey and not shy away from looking different in the classroom, as well as to encourage students of color to teach the true meaning of health care to black and brown communities through the power of chiropractic.
“Being of the vast minority striving to make history in our profession can be intimidating at times. I believe this conference will connect students with mentors, preceptorship opportunities, and shadowing opportunities. SABCA is known for networking. The doctors truly care about us students and want nothing but success for us; therefore, they are always willing to help.”
The conferences are open to all students and alumni interested in chiropractic care, regardless of their level of experience.
