Palmer College of Chiropractic creates channel on YouTube

Chiropractic Economics July 27, 2010

July 27, 2010 — Palmer College of Chiropractic has a channel on YouTube, which features interviews with alumni and current students, videos for prospective students, coverage of campus events, and more.

Members of YouTube can subscribe to channels like PalmerVideo and receive updates on the posting of new videos, leave comments and rate videos.

“I think the amount of exposure you can achieve at no cost is a great way to market in the current age of media,” says Palmer videographer and manager of the PalmerVideo channel Tim Richardson. “Our most recently posted video about the Clinic Abroad Program received 443 views in the first week. That’s pretty impressive exposure in a short period of time.”

Richardson notes that videos produced for the college used to have limited audiences. For example, the alumni-geared “Palmer Today” was originally created for alumni department representatives to take with them on the road to alumni events. Now that it’s on YouTube, everyone has access to it.

“It’s one thing to place videos on our website, which is where people who are already interested in Palmer go,” says Richardson. “But posting our videos on YouTube reaches out beyond our core audience, which can result in even more people learning and getting excited about Palmer and chiropractic.

“YouTube can make a huge difference,” says Richardson. “I was recently contacted by a chiropractor who said he received local referrals to his practice after they surfed through our YouTube channel.”
