Palmer chancellor announces succession plan for Davenport campus

Chiropractic Economics November 23, 2010

November 23, 2010 — In response to the Nov. 9, 2010, retirement announcement of long-time Davenport Campus President Donald P. Kern, DC, Palmer College of Chiropractic Chancellor Dennis Marchiori, DC, PhD, has announced his leadership succession plan for the main campus.

“Having been in the chancellor’s seat for nearly a year, I have had the opportunity to fully review our organizational structure,” said Marchiori. “We have a strong team of college-level senior administrators here in Davenport at the main campus as well as a deep pool of campus-specific department leaders. It is my intent to take advantage of these existing resources and distribute the responsibilities of Dr. Kern’s campus president role among appropriate members of this team.”

Marchiori pointed out that by reassigning the president’s duties, the college will improve efficiency and eliminate redundant layers in the overall administrative structure on the campus.

“While my role as chancellor is to oversee the entire college, I certainly hope to use this opportunity to facilitate closer interaction between my office and the main campus community,” said Marchiori.
