March 28, 2011 — Through six decades and all five university presidents, Victor Marty, DC, has passionately supported Northwestern Health Sciences University. He has been actively involved with the college since he graduated in 1950 and was awarded Alumnus of the Year at the 2011 Northwestern College of Chiropractic Homecoming.
Marty has served on several state and federal boards as well as Northwestern’s Board of Trustees. He is currently on the Northwestern College of Chiropractic Alumni Association Board of Directors.
“I have always supported the college through various committees,” he said. “My experiences allow me to contribute and help find solutions for the University.”
Marty works to create a greater impact from the alumni association. He believes the entire alumni board should be recognized for their hard work, especially for their work during the last year to integrate the alumni board.
“Northwestern is more complex now, especially with integration, but it is more unified,” he said. “I’m still very involved because I support the integration of healthcare professions at Northwestern.”
He continues to attend Northwestern events to pass on his memories and experiences to the younger alumni. The 2011 homecoming was very special for him. “I was shocked, humbled, and appreciated the award,” he said. “This was the climax of all the awards I’ve received from Northwestern and it was totally unexpected.”
