June 27, 2011 — Nordic Naturals announced the appointment of Keri Marshall MS, ND, as the company’s new chief medical officer.
Among her many responsibilities, Marshall will serve as the company’s primary spokesperson with the media, facilitate ongoing human clinical trials using Nordic Natural products, interface with other healthcare practitioners, support product development, oversee educational efforts, and develop research-based materials for professionals, retailers, and consumers.
According to Nordic Naturals CEO Joar Opheim, “Dr. Marshall has proven to be a top notch expert and educator who can fulfill an important role for both our retail and professional divisions. Her clinical background in integrative medicine, her understanding of scientific research, as well as her experience within our industry is a tremendous asset for Nordic Naturals.”
Marshall is a licensed naturopathic doctor who specializes in pediatrics, women’s medicine, chronic disease management, and integrative health. She has published several journal articles, written 18 monographs on vitamins, minerals and herbs, authored a book, and worked as an associate medical editor for another.
A media favorite, Marshall appears regularly on television and national radio, and in print media. She has served as a scientific adviser to Citizens for Health, and as a nutrition advisor to the United States Sugar Association. She has long advocated for healthy school lunch reform and offers her nutritional expertise to her local public school district.
She lobbies annually for the inclusion of integrative medicine in the national healthcare system. In addition, Marshall currently serves on several professional editorial and advisory boards.
