MediHerb offers improved, stronger Garlic Forte formula

Chiropractic Economics Staff June 2, 2012

June 2, 2012 — Garlic gives a distinctive, flavor-packed boost to any culinary dish. It is also one of the oldest known medicinal plants, revered for its therapeutic effects on key body systems, including the gastrointestinal, respiratory, immune, and cardiovascular systems.

To ensure it is providing the highest quality herbal supplements, MediHerb has improved its Garlic Forte formula by making it stronger. For optimal strength, the improved MediHerb Garlic Forte now contains 12 milligrams of alliin per tablet which results in more allicin potential.

“When a Garlic clove is crushed, its distinctive aroma indicates the release of allicin, garlic’s active compound that makes it so therapeutic and effective,” explains Associate Professor Kerry Bone, MediHerb co-founder and director of research and development. “To preserve the potency of allicin, quality garlic supplements should contain alliin (precursor to allicin) and alliinase (the enzyme required to convert alliin to allicin) and be enterically coated.”

MediHerb tests each batch of its Garlic Forte for its allicin-releasing capability. Its enteric coating ensures the alliinase enzyme is protected from stomach acid as the tablet is delivered to the small intestine, where it is converted to allicin and absorbed into the body.

Garlic Forte is one of Kerry Bone’s Essentials, a comprehensive range of 15 MediHerb supplements recommended to help maintain good health.* Garlic Forte is designed to:

  • Support the cardiovascular system
  • Enhance immune system response
  • Help maintain normal cholesterol levels within normal range
  • Encourage a healthy intestinal environment to help maintain proper gastrointestinal flora
  • Promote healthy lung function*

Other Kerry Bone Essentials are: Andrographis Complex, Boswellia Complex, Coleus Forte, Echinacea Premium, Ginkgo Forte, Gymnema 4g, LivCo, Rehmannia Complex, Rhodiola & Ginseng Complex, Saligesic, St John’s Wort 1.8g, Thyroid Complex, Tribulus, and Vitanox.
