January 12, 2010 — The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released a proposed rule that outlines criteria for demonstrating meaningful use of electronic health records (EHR) — a requirement for receiving a federal incentive bonus for using EHR.
The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) is currently undergoing a thorough review of the proposed regulations to ensure that doctors of chiropractic who use EHR are able to obtain an incentive bonus.
The final regulations regarding meaningful use will be released in the spring once the public comment period is over.
