On Feb. 27, ChiroHealthUSA and the Massachusetts Chiropractic Society jointly announced that they entered a strategic partnership.
With this agreement, the Massachusetts Chiropractic Society is participating in the ChiroHealthUSA State Association Pledge Program.
In addition to the many benefits for doctors of chiropractic and their patients, ChiroHealthUSA also supports the profession by pledging over 5% of their gross revenues to participating state associations, the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, Congress of Chiropractic State Associations, the Clinical Compass, the Chiropractic Future Strategic Plan, ChiroCongress Cares Legacy of Leadership Scholarship, NCMIC Research Foundation and the World Federation of Chiropractic.
They also fund one of the largest chiropractic scholarships in the U.S., The ChiroHealthUSA Foxworth Family Scholarship.
The Massachusetts Chiropractic Society is the 48th state association to join the ChiroHealthUSA Pledge Program. “This partnership provides us the opportunity to help more Massachusetts patients have access to affordable chiropractic care,” said Tracey Lane, Massachusetts Chiropractic Society Executive Director. “The addition of ChiroHealthUSA as a strategic partner not only allows us to help more patients, but help our chiropractors offer affordable care compliantly while supporting state and national initiatives that promote chiropractic through ChiroHealthUSA’s generous pledge program.”
ChiroHealthUSA is a provider-owned network that works in conjunction with a discount medical plan organization (DMPO) designed with doctors in mind. Their network model allows doctors to offer legal network-based discounts to cash, under-insured and out-of-network patients who are members. Patients covered by Medicare and federal programs are eligible for discounts on non-covered services.
The network approach to discounts reduces the risks of compliance and OIG violations related to inducements, improper down-coding, dual fee schedules and potentially inappropriate time-of-service discounts.
ChiroHealthUSA only makes membership available to individuals, which means there is no potential for “silent PPO” activity to lower reimbursements. A ChiroHealthUSA membership covers patients and their legal dependents for a small annual fee of $49.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Massachusetts Chiropractic Society as an official partner,” said Kristi Hudson, Vice President of Business Relations at ChiroHealthUSA. “The Massachusetts Chiropractic Society shares ChiroHealthUSA’s vision and mission, prioritizing greater access to chiropractic care for patients, while supporting and promoting the chiropractic profession. This partnership is just another way we are honoring that mission.”
Founded in 2007, ChiroHealthUSA is a simple, compliant, profitable way for DCs to offer affordable care to their patients. As of January 31, 2024, donations back to the profession have surpassed $3.4 million.
The Massachusetts Chiropractic Society Inc. is the only statewide, nonprofit membership service organization representing the chiropractic profession in Massachusetts. The Society’s principal function is to maintain standards in education, ethics and professional competency necessary to meet the requirements of the profession and the expectations of the general public. The Society is dedicated to assisting the doctor of chiropractic in achieving, maintaining and delivering the highest standard of health care.
