Maine, Oregon Chiropractic Associations join ACA Affiliate Program

Chiropractic Economics Staff January 23, 2024

American Chiropractors Association

The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) State Affiliate Program recently expanded with the addition of the Maine Chiropractic Association and the Oregon Chiropractic Association, bringing the total number of ACA state affiliates to 15.

Membership in the Affiliate Program affords chiropractic state groups the opportunity to work more closely with ACA on issues that advance the chiropractic profession. Affiliate states maintain their own separate governance but benefit by having a representative seated in the ACA House of Delegates, giving them the ability to vote and help shape ACA policy. Likewise, an ACA representative is seated on the state association’s board of directors to provide a broader perspective on issues of mutual concern.

Having both national and state-level perspectives on legislative advocacy, insurance issues, membership marketing and education shared in one forum benefits all groups. In turn, advocacy on behalf of the profession and patients is enhanced and better coordinated on both the state and national level.

“We are excited to welcome the Maine and Oregon associations to the ACA Affiliate Program,” said John Falardeau, ACA senior vice president of public policy and advocacy. “The strong connections we build through the program are an asset to ACA and the states in respect to ongoing initiatives and especially during times when quick action is needed.”

About the American Chiropractic Association

The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) is the largest professional chiropractic organization in the United States. ACA attracts the most principled and accomplished chiropractors, who understand that it takes more to be called an ACA chiropractor. We are leading our profession in the most constructive and far-reaching ways—by working hand in hand with other health care professionals, by lobbying for pro-chiropractic legislation and policies, by supporting meaningful research and by using that research to inform our treatment practices. We also provide professional and educational opportunities for all our members and are committed to being a positive and unifying force for the practice of modern chiropractic. Visit acatoday.org.
