Logan University adds Doctorate in Health Professions Education degree

Chiropractic Economics Staff July 31, 2015

logan university logoLogan University has announced the addition of a new doctorate degree focused on health professions education.

The Doctorate of Health Professions Education (DHPE) focuses on advancing healthcare through the education process. Health professions clinical educators are in high demand and graduates of this program will be able to take their clinical expertise and translate it to the field of higher education.

The program provides the opportunity for health professionals to gain knowledge in academic leadership, education technology, research, statistics, curriculum development, delivery, and assessment.

“The demand for more formal health education among clinicians and other health professions educators to improve outcomes is driving the need for more specialty clinical educators—a profession that’s expected to grow over the next decade,” said Kimberly Paddock-O’Reilly, DHEd, MSW, vice president of academic affairs at Logan. “We are well poised to provide this type of education as it complements our mission, vision, and values as well as compliments both our existing and future degree offerings.”

Beginning in January 2016, the DHPE degree program will be offered in an online format, allowing students the flexibility to complete their doctorate degree while maintaining their current employment.
