May 13, 2008 — Logan College of Chiropractic has added ACOM’s RAPID EMR to be one of the software systems to be used to fulfill the requirement under which eighth trimester students must perform hands-on exercises using automated chiropractic software.
According to Glenn Bub, DC, chief of staff of Logan’s Health Centers, the objective of the program is to provide chiropractic students with awareness of how such programs work and at the same time, give them experience in using the systems.
“Today’s students are technology-savvy as well as aware of the emerging requirements for electronic medical records,” Bub said. “In this facet of our program, we strive to make them aware of the kinds of software systems that are available, how they work, and how they fit into practice operations. We want our new doctors to be informed when they have to make technology buying decisions.”
