New equipment puts chiropractic focus on nervous system.
In an educational partnership, the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance (CLA) recently donated equipment known as Insight Subluxation Stations to supplement the Life University (LIFE) chiropractic curriculum.
The Insight Subluxation Station tracks thermal activity, spinal movement, stress, and activity in the autonomic nervous system, creating an image of what’s occurring in the nervous system and spine.
“It’s a validated, reliable research-grade piece of technology that any chiropractor can use,” says David Fletcher, DC, chairman and chief clinical officer. “It takes eight minutes to run a complete test, offering a valuable digital picture of nervous system health.”
Leslie King, DC, dean of LIFE’s College of Chiropractic, says, “The Life University College of Chiropractic appreciates the donation from Dr. Fletcher as the Insight Subluxation Stations are an asset to teaching patient care and will help to continue to give our students the tools and knowledge they need to take care of the spine and nervous system.”
LIFE previously had four Insight Subluxation Stations that were no longer functional to the program. LIFE President Guy Riekeman, DC, reached out to Mr. Brock Brascho, vice president of CLA, to request Insight Subluxation Stations for both the instrumentation lab and the outpatient clinic.
Brascho approached Debra Cassera, CLA’s CEO, and Fletcher, and CLA donated nine Insight Subluxation Stations, totaling more than $70,000 in value. On Friday, August 28, Riekeman met with Fletcher to accept the donation and recognize the ongoing relationship with CLA as a partner in the education of forward‐thinking chiropractic students.
“We love the fact that the students will have the Stations in an integrated fashion throughout their education, from being taught in early days as an introduction, then into student clinic and moving into outpatient clinic,” Fletcher says.
Fletcher’s leadership of CLA has positioned the company at the forefront of the subluxation movement within the profession. Advancements in data collection, COREscore reporting, software development and sensor engineering have outpaced any of the other chiropractic instrument companies. Life University appreciates their contribution and leadership in the field of chiropractic and knows its students will benefit with the leading‐edge technology of the Insight Subluxation Stations.
