March 3, 2014 — Life Chiropractic College West recently announced the appointment of Timothy Gay, DC, as the executive vice president of the Life Chiropractic College West Monte H. Greenawalt Health Center, and Bruce Lipton, DC, as a senior faculty member.
“I am honored and privileged to serve Life West in a new capacity,” said Gay. “My commitment is to ensuring Life West graduates are the most able and principled chiropractors in this wonderful profession. To have a balance of the science, art, philosophy, business acumen, and heart is essential to graduate DCs. Enabling a high level of success in the health center will ensure a successful chiropractor in practice.”
Gay built a major practice in Seattle for more than 25 years before relocating to Southern California. For the past 10 years, he has been coaching chiropractors to succeed in practice through his firm, Ultimate Practice. Gay previously served as chair of the board of regents from 2011 and has overseen a period of significant growth and reorganization at Life Chiropractic College West.
“What excites me most is the opportunity to share what I have learned and honed over the past 35 years with the students who are the future of our profession. Life West is an exciting place to be. I am committed to working with Dr. Brian Kelly as part of his team to see the College flourish well into the future.”
Lipton will return to the Life West faculty as a visiting professor after a 16-year absence.
Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist and went on to do leading-edge stem cell research in the 1970s. He was tenured at the University of Wisconsin and Stanford University School of Medicine and has published in the journals Nature and Science.
In the 1980s, Lipton was introduced to the writings of D.D. Palmer leading him to begin examining principles of quantum physics and how these might be integrated into his understanding of the cell’s information processing systems.
Lipton has taken his award-winning lectures to the public and is a sought after keynote speaker. He presents to a variety of audiences on epigenetics and how it integrates with mind-body medicine and spiritual principles. Lipton is the author of three books: The Biology of Belief, Spontaneous Evolution, and The Honeymoon Effect.
Beginning in July, 2014, Lipton will be teaching a course at Life West titled The Science of Vitalism. “We are looking forward to having Dr. Lipton on campus and are excited to experience his genius as he enlightens our students and faculty,” said Life West President Dr. Brian Kelly.
