Fujifilm digital X-ray system upgrade improves speed

Chiropractic Economics July 23, 2011

July 23, 2011 — FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A. Inc. announced the availability of their new FCR Prima Upgrade Kit (PUK), which aims to dramatically increases the throughput speed of the Fujifilm Computed Radiography (FCR) Prima digital x-ray system.

Those practices that have been using the FCR Prima will now have the ability to improve system performance with this upgrade. The FCR Prima was first introduced to the market in 2009.

“The FCR Prima has successfully filled a niche in our product portfolio for the specialty markets with its ability to offer Fujifilm’s renowned hospital-grade image quality, but at a price point that is affordable for many small practices,” says David Hotchkiss, Fujifilm’s director of product marketing modality solutions. “Now with the option to upgrade system performance, facilities can have a system that grows with them, comfortably meeting increased throughput without purchasing a new system. We recognize that many of these same practices are seeing more patients than when they originally purchased the FCR Prima. The PUK is an ideal solution to cost effectively and easily upgrade their FCR Prima.”

An upgraded FCR Prima processes up to 55 images per hour (as compared to 29 images per hour on the original FCR Prima).

The single plate FCR Prima is part of Fujifilm’s comprehensive line of digital imaging products that meet the varying low to high volume imaging needs of private practices across the healthcare community.
