Free webinar hosted by doctor of chiropractic to share tips on preventing running injuries

Chiropractic Economics Staff March 22, 2021

Join avid marathon runner and practicing chiropractic physician M. Enrique Flores, DC, as he hosts a free webinar providing tips on how to prevent running injuries as part of the lead up to 2021 Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon.

Running injuries are an important topic, as at least half of runners suffer an injury every year.1 The webinar, “Running right: Staying on the Course to Wellness” will be held at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, March 30.  (Click here to register for the webinar).

In this free and interactive webinar, Flores will cover:

  • Keeping your body healthy while training
  • Tips on recovering post-race
  • Maintaining proper biomechanics
  • How maintaining a healthy nervous system improves the function of the rest of the body
  • Your questions

Dr. Flores is a chiropractor based in Poughkeepsie, NY, and is an experienced marathon runner and Ironman triathlete. He ran the 2019 Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon and won a gold medal in the Masters’ Division for the 10,000-meter run in the 2016 Central American Track & Field Games. In 2014 he was selected to be a part of the medical team for the XXII Latin American and Caribbean Olympic Games.

He is a big believer in the importance of looking at the body as a whole and the interdependence of its parts. One of the main treatments he provides is Foot Levelers custom orthotics.

Foot Levelers custom orthotics help prevent knee pain, shin splints, IT band syndrome, and more by balancing the body’s foundation – the feet.  Every Foot Levelers orthotic is custom-made based on a 3D scan of the feet. Foot Levelers custom orthotics are great for runners because they are comfortable, flexible, and help protect the body by absorbing up to 90% of shock.

Featuring 7,430 feet of elevation change, the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon is America’s Toughest Road Marathon. The 2021 Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon is scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 17 in Roanoke, Va.

The March 30 webinar “Running right: Staying on the Course to Wellness” is geared toward all runners, of all levels.
