September 10, 2010 — During a private reception at the 2010 Florida Chiropractic Association National Convention and Expo, the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP) presented its spokesperson, Brigadier General Becky Halstead (ret.), with an appreciation award for her diligence in promoting the benefits of chiropractic care.
Brig. Gen. Halstead, who joined the foundation team more than a year ago, has visited several chiropractic colleges, participated in a number of television/radio interviews, and was featured for a segment on Fox & Friends in which she commented on her experience with chiropractic care.
“The Foundation has been able to accomplish so much for the profession over the last year, and I am fortunate to be a part of its media campaigns,” commented Brig. Gen. Halstead. “I look forward to continuing this relationship and safeguarding the chiropractic profession as our country continues to improve its healthcare system.”
Brig. Gen. Halstead decided to receive routine and sustained chiropractic care after a severe case of fibromyalgia forced her into retirement. Close friend and chiropractor, Carol Ann Malizia, DC, treated Brig. Gen. Halstead and helped her return to a prescription-free lifestyle. When Malizia informed Brig. Gen. Halstead about the foundation and its mission of positive press, she saw it as an opportunity to give back to a profession that had restored her quality of life.
“I am living and breathing proof that chiropractic care will exponentially improve the overall health of our military and all Americans,” concluded Brig. Gen. Halstead.
