Foot Levelers urges chiropractic care for pain treatment

Chiropractic Economics June 2, 2020

Foot Levelers logoESPN’s new documentary being released in May about the life and death of professional baseball player Roy Halladay, one of the best pitchers of his generation, brings to light how drug-free options need to be the first course of pain treatment to help stop the opioid epidemic.

Halladay died in November 2017 when the plane he was piloting crashed. A toxicology report revealed he had several prescription medications in his system. ESPN’s documentary and a story published on its website also detail how Halladay became addicted to prescription opioids while trying to play through back and shoulder injuries. Extremely addictive, prescription opioids are not intended to fix the structural cause of a patient’s pain.

Foot Levelers encourages you, the chiropractor, to spread the word about your treatments and how they are part of the solution to the opioids epidemic. Many people in the general public do not realize chiropractic care offers safe, effective, drug-free pain treatment options. This is an opportunity to educate your community about how your services — including your adjustments and Foot Levelers custom orthotics — can help treat so many ailments.

Foot Levelers has put together a news release you can edit and send to your local media or other organizations. You can click here to download the news release, edit it with your information, and then send it out.

Foot Levelers asks chiropractors to continue educating the public that before someone tries prescription pills or is told they have to undergo surgery for a musculoskeletal issue, try chiropractic adjustments and Foot Levelers custom orthotics.

Foot Levelers custom orthotics provide comfort and protection for high-level athletes and the general public, and can also help reduce back pain, knee pain, plantar fasciitis pain and hip pain. In fact, a randomized controlled study published in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation proved Foot Levelers custom orthotics reduce low back pain by 34.5%. The participants in the blind, peer-reviewed research study specifically used Foot Levelers custom-made orthotics.

Halladay’s tragic death shows how the opioid epidemic impacts everyone from high-level athletes to the general public. It’s time for chiropractic care to be a first-line pain treatment option.
