August 30, 2013 — As part of its long-term initiative to support future healthcare professionals, Standard Process Inc. recently awarded two acupuncture students with scholarships. The $2,500 scholarships are the first the whole food supplement manufacturer has given to the acupuncture discipline. The scholarships allow students to study the importance of nutrition combined with the practices of Chinese medicine.
Kristin Hauser and Erika Schultz are the first two recipients of the Standard Process Scholarship for acupuncture students. Hauser is currently a student in the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) in Whittier, Calif. Schultz studies in Austin, Texas at AOMA Graduate School of Medicine (AOMA).
Standard Process is dedicated to supporting the growth of acupuncture in the United States. Among other professional development and educational activities, the company now offers scholarships at SCU and AOMA and plans to expand this offering to other acupuncture schools.
“Standard Process is committed to the future of acupuncture and its professionals” says Amanda Smith, Standard Process acupuncture segment manager. “Both Kristin and Erika share the Standard Process passion for improving the lives of their acupuncture patients. We are honored to support them in their professional development.”
