September 19, 2012 — September is recognized as Subluxation Awareness Month by a number of organizations, such as the International Chiropractors Association, the Georgia Council of Chiropractic, and the Florida Chiropractic Society. September was, of course, chosen as Sept. 18 marks the recognized anniversary of the first chiropractic adjustment performed by D.D. Palmer in 1895 in Davenport, Iowa.
A resolution declaring September to be Subluxation Awareness Month in Pennsylvania was sent out by Rep. Mark B. Cohen Aug. 2, 2010.
Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signed the Subluxation Awareness Proclamation Sept. 15, 2011.
Iowa Governor Terry Brandstad recently signed a proclamation making September 2012 Vertebral Subluxation Awareness Month.
