January 31, 2011 — This year marks the first time that providers can obtain incentive bonuses for using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) and meeting all of the Medicare EHR Incentive Program requirements.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has just released a new resource to help providers determine whether they know the necessary information to obtain an incentive bonus. CMS’ participant selfassessment, “Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentives: What Do You Know and Do You Know Enough?” is available at www.medscape.org/viewarticle/734299.
Participation will require the user to log in to Medscape; however, registration is free and does not require any commitment. For additional information regarding EHRs, visit www.acatoday.org/ehr.
