May 11, 2011 — In both the United States and Canada, back pain contributes to significant absenteeism and lost productivity in the workplace. In Alberta, Canada, alone, on-the-job back injuries account for more than 25 percent of all Workers’ Compensation Board lost-time claims.
A recent article in the Calgary Herald discussed how patients that receive chiropractic care return to work faster and at less cost than with other forms of treatment. In addition, for employers, increased use of chiropractic care can reduce premium costs for benefits and contribute to improved productivity.
Furthermore, cumulative performance statistics over the past decade from the Alberta Workers’ Compensation Board indicate that chiropractic care is the most consistent and cost-effective treatment per claim. Read the full article here
