October 3, 2011 — Chiro Finishing School (CFS) is launching its next online program Oct. 7, 2011. CFS is designed for chiropractors who want a business edge in this turbulent climate.
CFS is the brainchild of Dr. Patrick Gentempo, a long-time chiropractor, and the creator of several large companies in the chiropractic space. “I have fixed my sights on what I see as one of the most urgent problems facing our profession. DCs are in business, but have little to no practical business training,” says Gentempo.
“I have fixed my sights on what I see as one of the most urgent problems facing our profession. DCs are in business, but have little to no practical business training.”
Gentempo has partnered with his business mentor, Rick Sapio, to help design and lead the instruction of the program.
“I was first introduced to the chiropractic profession three years ago by Dr. Gentempo,” says Sapio. “Since that time, I’ve signed an ongoing care agreement with a local chiropractor, and my wife signed a long-term care agreement with a separate Family Chiropractor Center to provide wellness services to our young children. The results that we’ve achieved health-wise are almost inconceivable. All chronic pain, all medications and all daily health nuisances have been eliminated from our lives, along with all interactions with prescription-writing doctors. In light of the power of chiropractic, it is shocking to me how few people — as a percentage of our population — visit a chiropractor on a regular basis.
“I’ve learned from Dr. Gentempo that less than 2 percent of the population is actively engaged in chiropractic care, and less than 10 percent have ever seen a chiropractor in their lives. As a business person for the past 30 years, I’ve witnessed first-hand the devastating effects on small business owners from their lack of foundational business knowledge. After closely watching the chiropractic profession due to my affiliation with Dr. Gentempo over the past few years, I am convinced that the primary reason that the chiropractic profession has not grown and touched many more lives is due to the overwhelming percentage of DCs with limited or nonexistent business training.”
Both Gentempo and Sapio feel that the profession must embrace wholeheartedly this hole in chiropractic training. The profession must begin to put as much emphasis on teaching business principles in chiropractic, as it puts on teaching anatomy and adjusting.
“Our catalyzing statement is to make chiropractors the best trained business leaders in healthcare,” states Gentempo. “And we are serious about it. We made Chiro Finishing School affordable for any practice, and further, for every DC that registers, we give a free scholarship to the program to a chiropractic student.”
