Carlson Laboratories introduces the reformulated Lutein & Greens

Chiropractic Economics Staff March 25, 2015

Carlson logo _50thMarch 25, 2015 — Your eyes are an important—but often overlooked—part of overall health. To spotlight and promote optimal eye health, Carlson Laboratories introduces Lutein & Greens, reformulated to include 25 percent more lutein along with naturally occurring zeaxanthin in a base of kale and spirulina.

Lutein and zeaxanthin are major carotenoids found in the retina’s macular region, an area vital to healthy vision. Kale and spirulina support and promote optimal vision and immune system function.*

The macula is the delicate center area of the retina, responsible for focus and fine detail. Studies suggest high levels of lutein and zeaxanthin in eye tissue are associated with healthy vision, which is why a diet rich in these antioxidants is often recommended.

Many eye care specialists also started implementing a test called macular pigment optical density to measure lutein and zeaxanthin levels in eye tissue. For optimal eye health, at least 6 to 10 mg of lutein and zeaxanthin daily is recommended.

For those who are unable to receive these powerful antioxidants through their diet, just one capsule per day provides an effective dosage.*

“Kale and other greens are often missing from our diets, but they’re so important for eye health,” says Carlson Laboratories President Carilyn Anderson. “Lutein & Greens is a wonderful formula, providing important nutrients necessary for healthy vision.”

Lutein & Greens can be found at a nearby health food store.
