Belltown Spine & Wellness launches ’12 Weeks to Wellness’ program

Chiropractic Economics August 27, 2011

August 27, 2011 — Belltown Spine & Wellness, an integrated health and rehabilitation center, announced the launch of their new “12 Weeks to Wellness” program. This multi-level, three-month-long program will combine spinal rehabilitation, nutrition, personal training, and weight loss monitoring, and will be tailored to each patient’s specific needs and goals. logo

Developed to move patients toward optimal health and wellness more quickly and effectively, it will also provide opportunities for incorporating complementary therapies like light therapy, massage, acupuncture, and naturopathic medicine.

A patient entering the 12 Weeks to Wellness program first undergoes a thorough health examination. The health professionals at Belltown Spine & Wellness use technologies to determine a patient’s baseline health and to set measurable and achievable goals for subsequent weeks. This baseline examination includes a comprehensive Spinal Assessment, which tests of all major nerves in body for optimal function, as well as a computerized Postural Assessment and Functional Assessment of all major joints in the body.

Using these assessments, the patient is guided through a four-step process of spinal rehabilitation (“Mix”, “Fix”, “Set” and “Home Care”). Named the “Mindel Method” after Scott Mindel, DC, owner of Belltown Spine & Wellness, this spinal care part of the program speeds patients’ recovery from pain and chronic injuries and moves them toward better health.

Along with spinal, postural and functional assessments, patients are given a complete Nutritional Evaluation and computerized Body Weight Analysis at the program’s start. During the 12-week program, patients also receive three one-hour follow-up consultations, occurring every three weeks, to closely monitor their weight loss and nutritional needs.

To augment the nutrition and weight loss dimensions of the program, patients are assigned a personal trainer for one to five exercise sessions a week, depending on their individual health needs and goals. Finally, patients can choose to incorporate into their individual program other recommended therapies like massage, acupuncture and naturopathy, which are offered at Belltown Spine & Wellness. Patients who opt to take advantage of all the services available will have a team of half a dozen health professionals collectively guiding and supporting them through their 12 Weeks to Wellness program.

“Whether the individual is suffering from chronic pain or is symptom-free but looking to optimize his or her overall health, we at Belltown Spine & Wellness are there every step of the way, guiding the patient towards optimal health and wellness,” said Mindel. “It’s a multi-dimensional approach focused on helping patients to a better, healthier life.”
