ACOM helps doctors achieve meaningful use with chiropractic software

Chiropractic Economics August 12, 2011

August 12, 2011 — ACOM Health is working with chiropractors to not only become certified for EHR stimulus dollars, but to prove and achieve meaningful use as well.

“We did it back in March, five months ago, when we received our complete EHR certification and here we are again with our first doctor successfully following the ACOM Meaningful Use Coaching Program and meeting the government requirements for Achieving Meaningful Use.”

Timothy Iehl, DC, of Iehl Chiropractic in River Falls, WI is said to be the first doctor to achieve meaningful use and complete the attestation process using the ACOM Health RAPID EHR software. And, according to Sam Mikhail, vice president of sales for ACOM Health, he is just the first of many more RAPID users that will be achieving the same milestone in the next few months.

“Once again ACOM Health is leading the Chiropractic marketplace,” Mikhail says. “We did it back in March, five months ago, when we received our complete EHR certification and here we are again with our first doctor successfully following the ACOM Meaningful Use Coaching Program and meeting the government requirements for Achieving Meaningful Use.”

Mikhail advises chiropractors to ask potential chiropractic EHR software vendors if they have any clients who have successfully achieved meaningful use to date; this is the real proof on whether or not the vendor not only has a certified product but more importantly all the resources and training programs required to make the process easy for the doctor and insure that he/she will be able to meet the government requirements.

The specific program titled “Achieving Meaning Use Coach Program” guides chiropractors through the process. Each new customer is assigned a meaningful use coach who works directly with the doctors to help them stay on top of all the requirements and ensures that they are well positioned to take full advantage of the Stimulus Incentive Program.

“The training and support I received has been great,” Iehl says. “With the implementation of the meaningful use criteria, the support that ACOM provided was above and beyond; they took it to a new level. Technical and training staff worked with me to solve any problems and did so very quickly, leading to practically zero downtime. It was like having my own IT department.”
