March 3, 2009 — Once again, the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) is partnering with the American Public Health Association (APHA), and APHA’s Chiropractic Section to promote National Public Health Week (NPHW), April 6-12, 2009. This year’s theme is “Building the Foundation for a Healthy America” and the goal is to raise awareness nationally and locally on public health’s critical role in ensuring a healthy America.
For more than a decade, communities around the country have celebrated NPHW each April to help protect and improve our nation’s health. Each day, the focus during NPHW will be on a different setting through which our health is impacted.
Monday: Your nation — Building the foundation for a healthy America
Tuesday: Your community — Addressing the impact of where we live on our health
Wednesday: Your workplace — Supporting healthy employees and healthy businesses
Thursday: Your schools — Nurturing healthy students and educators
Friday: Your home — Protecting and promoting health in our daily lives
