In 1984 I was the first chiropractor to go to the Olympic Games on the U.S.
Medical staff (althougth Dr. Goodheart was chosen in 1980, the U.S.
boycotted the games) I felt the pressure of representing the entire
profession. I never would have dreamed that the day would come that more
than one chiropractor would be chosen for the Medical Staff. Now, to our
credit, the medical staff will have three chiropractors! The USOC has
recognized that our service to the Team, as a profession, is invaluable .
I'm also happy to see that Dr. Michael Reed has been chosen as the medical
director for the Sports Performance Division at the USOC. He is perfectly
suited for the job, and will represent the profession well.
Congratulations to Drs. Forcum, Ferral, Adams, and Reed!
