Protecting chiropractors through the regulatory process
July 27, 2010 — Over the past few weeks, a number of regulations have been released that will dictate how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and other federal programs will be implemented.
These regulations cover topics such as the 2011 Medicare Fee Schedule, Meaningful Use of Electronic Health Records and Mandated Coverage for Preventive Services.

Because plans that have the grandfathered status will not be required to comply with many of the provisions of the PPACA, these regulations could have a major impact.
The role of the doctor of chiropractic in our future healthcare system will largely be determined by how these regulations are finalized. Because of this, the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) is taking great care to promptly and thoughtfully offer comments and recommendations in response to these proposed regulations.
