Douglas Laboratories earns membership
in CRN and NSF GMP registration
Douglas Laboratories has been approved for membership in the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) by the association’s board of directors. In addition, the company has also earned NSF Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) registration for its vitamin and nutritional-supplement production facilities.
The CRN is a self-regulating trade organization representing the dietary-supplement industry that advocates consumer safety and endorses effective products made to high-quality standards. NSF is a nonprofit, global leader in standards development, product certification, education, and risk-management services.
Douglas Laboratories is the only current member of CRN to specifically market to the healthcare industry.
“We are honored to be affiliated with CRN, an association that shares our same commitment to providing high-quality, safe and beneficial dietary supplements,” said Doug Lioon, CEO of Douglas Laboratories. “We look forward to working with CRN in efforts that will strengthen and build our industry.”
NSF conducted an independent audit of Douglas Laboratories’ 150,000-square-foot manufacturing, packaging, and distribution center in Pittsburgh. In the audit, NSF verified that Douglas Laboratories complied with its GMP guidelines.
For complying with the requirements of the NSF GMP program, the company was issued a certificate and listed on the NSF Web site, www.nsf.org.
