ACA, Virginia DCs File Suit
Against Managed Care Company

Concerns over discriminatory reimbursement policies have prompted the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), the Virginia Chiropractic Association (VCA), five doctors of chiropractic and 18 chiropractic patients to file suit in the U.S. District Court against Virginiaís largest managed health-care company, Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield and the National Blue Cross Blue Shield (BC/BS) Association.

The lawsuit alleges that Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield and the National Blue Cross Blue Shield Association engaged in racketeering, extortion, mail fraud and antitrust as related to dealings with chiropractors. The suit also seeks to invalidate the BC/BS trademark because of these alleged illegal activities.
