ICA Symposium on Natural Fitness to Feature
Arnold Schwarzenegger Fitness Weekend
The International Chiropractors Association, and the ICA Council on Fitness and Sports Health Science, once again present their Symposium on Natural Fitness in conjunction with the Arnold Schwarzenegger Fitness Weekend and Expo in Columbus, Ohio, from March 2-4.
This year's continuing education program, co-sponsored by Cleveland Chiropractic College, will again feature leaders in the world of fitness who are dedicated to exercise and sports training in the context of chiropractic care. The seminar program will cover recent developments in fitness and sports health science and their application to subluxation-based chiropractic care, with emphasis on sports performance and health-care trends.
The 2001 Symposium will be the 9th annual program the ICA Council on Fitness and Sports Health Science has conducted in conjunction with Schwarzenegger's Fitness Weekend and competitions. The ICA's Symposium brings together international experts and stars in the world of exercise and fitness with outstanding chiropractic educators, all oriented toward enhancing the strong natural partnership between fitness and chiropractic.
Bodybuilding legend Bill Pearl, a widely published fitness authority and five-time Mr. Olympia, is co-presenting an exciting program on maximizing reliable and safe results in strength conditioning from a chiropractic perspective with television fitness host Dr. Pete Gratale. A popular symposium presenter who is known for his work as editor-in-chief of Weider publications' Muscle and Fitness magazine, Dr. Thomas C. Deters, will give a talk on the "Clinical Applications of Performance Nutrition," which will include a question-and-answer session to address individual practice concerns.
Dr. Bob Goldman, the founder and international president of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and president of the American Association of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), will present the latest updates on the clinical role of exercise in health and longevity. Mike Spino, a widely published fitness authority and coaching expert on the mind-body aspects of athletic training and chiropractic care, will present on sports psychology and performance enhancement in the chiropractic office, with special clinical demonstrations and case applications to specific sports.
"The energy at this event is always at such a phenomenally high level, the highest I have ever seen at a chiropractic gathering," said ICA Fitness Council President Dr. Gerald R. Mattia. "More and more fitness stars and champion athletes are putting their celebrity status behind chiropractic, and ICA's Fitness Council is in the front lines of spreading the chiropractic message. By sharing the meaning of health through fitness as part of a healthy chiropractic lifestyle, we can educate the general public on the power of our unique chiropractic science and on the vital relationship between fitness and health."
