Pitcher pitches for full-time team DC
The star pitcher of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team has thrown a pitch for a full-time team chiropractor.
According to Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Jim Salisbury, pitcher Cole Hamels has told team management he and others on the team would like a team chiropractor. Hamels says he goes to a chiropractor on his own, but the travel schedule has not allowed him regular treatments for his back as well as his elbow, which has troubled him recently.
The article quoted Mitch Harding, DC, of Center City, Pa., who said the use of chiropractic could be a preventive measure for shoulder or elbow injuries.
The team’s assistant general manager, Ruben Amaro, said management would discuss the option of having a team chiropractor in the future.
