ABCA convenes in Little Rock
The American Black Chiropractic Association (ABCA) held its 26th Annual National Convention in Little Rock, Ark., Aug. 15–19 with the theme “Building for the Future.”
“This year’s motor for the ABCA has been to educate, communicate and motivate,” said ABCA President Dr. Corrine Morgan, currently in the second year of her term. “Through this motto, we plan to grow this organization to the best it has ever been.”
Speakers at the event included Drs. LaJoyce Brookshire and Lisa Bloom, and Sen. Henry “Hank” Wilkins IV.
Traditionally, the ABCA convention concludes with the Harvey Lillard Scholarship Banquet. This year, $2,500 in scholarships were awarded to students from three different chiropractic colleges. The prized “Chiropractor of the Year” award, established to recognize and honor a member in good standing who performed at a level above the rest during the previous year, was presented to Juneau K. Robbins, DC, of Minneapolis.
The ABCA’s 2008 convention will be held Sept. 17–21 in Houston.
