Life University offers challenge
In the wake of reality fitness TV shows, such as “Celebrity Fit Club” and “The Biggest Loser,” Life University is promoting its own fall quarter resolution titled “Life’s Ultimate Challenge.”
For the start of fall quarter, Life University’s Wellness Center will challenge the Life community to reach individual personal fitness goals. The challenge will end Dec. 7, and is open to all staff, faculty, and students.
“Life’s Ultimate Challenge is designed to be a personal challenge,” said Pat Banks, Wellness Center director and creator of Life’s Ultimate Challenge. “We want to put the emphasis on an overall wellness of the individual instead of simply focusing on weight loss.”
The Wellness Center will provide logs for participants to keep track of their progress. The various logs include daily food intake, weekly activities, weekly walking distance, and a gratitude journal. The Wellness Center is helping to motivate participants by offering personal trainers and discounts for training in groups
Life’s Ultimate Challenge is scheduled in conjunction with World Spine Day, which takes place Oct. 16.
