VCA presents awards and holds elections

At the Virginia Chiropractic Association’s (VCA’s) recent fall convention in Staunton, Va., the VCA named its chiropractor of the year and elected new board members.

Joe A. Cantu, DC, DACBR, of Charlottesville was named VCA Chiropractor of the Year. This award recognizes doctors of chiropractic who have made significant contributions to the chiropractic profession in Virginia. 

The following new VCA board members were elected or re-elected at the Saturday General Membership Meeting:

• Steve Riggleman, DC, district I director (re-elected);
• Chris Bruno, DC, district II director (re-elected);
• Joe Dales, DC, district III director (newly elected); and
• Lonnie Slone, DC, district V director (newly elected).

The following VCA board members continue their terms:

• Bill Ward, DC, president;
• Joe Cantu, DC, secretary; and
• Jefferson Teas, DC, treasurer.

The vice president and district IV director positions remain vacant.
