Life student competes in Ironman Florida
A Life University chiropractic student will compete in the Ironman Florida triathlon in Panama City Beach, Fla on November 3.
Ben Cavaliere, a member of Life’s triathlon club, has trained for more than a year to prepare for the competition. Prior to Ironman Florida, Cavaliere has completed five half-marathons and finished his first full-marathon at the ING Atlanta Marathon this year.
“The training has been hard work, especially being a student the doctorate of chiropractic program,” said Cavaliere. “To me, there is no greater athletic achievement than finishing an Ironman. It’s what I have dreamt about since I first started this sport.”
Ironman Florida is a three sport discipline in sequence. The 2.4-mile swim will take place in the Gulf of Mexico, followed by a 112-mile bike journey through the Panhandle. The competition will finish with a 26.2-mile run to the finish line.
