ICPA papers to be presented at symposium
Two International Chiropractic Pediatric Association’s (ICPA) papers will be presented at the 14th Annual Symposium on Complementary Health Care Dec. 11–13 in Exeter, Devon, U.K.
The first paper, titled “Treatment-related aggravations, complications and improvements attributed to chiropractic spinal manipulative therapy of pediatric patients: A practice-based survey of practitioners,” investigated the iatrogenesis and symptom improvements associated with chiropractic spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) of pediatric patients. Results of the study suggest chiropractic SMT care of children is safe and effective.
The second paper, titled “Treatment-related aggravations, complications and improvements attributed to chiropractic spinal manipulative therapy of pediatric patients: A survey of parents,” investigated treatment-related aggravations, complications, and improvements with pediatric chiropractic SMT. Results of the study provide supporting evidence regarding the safety and effectiveness of chiropractic SMT in children, based on parental reports.
