DCs urged to participate in practice-information survey
The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and more than 70 other health care organizations are working together to coordinate a comprehensive survey of America’s healthcare practices. The Practice Information Survey is the first of its type in more than a decade.
The purpose of the survey is to collect up-to-date information on practice characteristics in order to positively influence national decision-makers, according to Tony Hamm, DC, vice president of ACA’s Council of Delegates.
Thousands of practices will be surveyed in 2007 and 2008, from virtually all disciplines to ensure accurate and fair representation for all health care professionals and their patients.
The project will explore both the clinical and business sides of practice. The information will be shared with governmental policy makers, including those in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). “CMS will use the data to arrive at the most accurate reimbursements,” explained Hamm.
ACA helped advise in the dissemination of survey, which is being sent to both ACA members and nonmembers. Anyone who receives the survey is encouraged to complete it.
Survey data will be compiled and analyzed by Dmrkynetec, a marketing research firm.
